At the end of 2007, the Japanese video-sharing site Nico Nico Douga started to show a vast number of Caramelldansen spoofs with different anime characters[1]. YouTube also hosts many Caramelldansen spoofs[2].

In Japan, Caramelldansen is often called ウッーウッーウマウマ (u- u- umauma, "uma" is suggested to "yummy" in Japanese) from soramimi of "u-u-ua-ua".
